International Certificates

Information Technology Certificates

The University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszów is the leader in the IT certificates market in Poland.

30% of people who hold ECDL certificates (European Computer Driving Licence), recognized by employers all over Europe, have obtained them at our University.

UITM is one of the few Polish universities with state-of-the-art computer laboratories (e.g. CISCO Systems, Sun Microsystems, Hewlett Packard equipment) and one of the few to offer its students the opportunity to earn certificates from the leading information technology companies.

Information technology students take these certification exams immediately after completing the related course. The knowledge and skills our students gain are in sync with the requirements of the world's largest hardware and software companies. This gives our graduates a privileged place on the job market, not only in Poland but throughout Europe.

Authorized Prometric Center

On the 23rd of July, 2001 the University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszów was officially registered as an Authorized Prometric Center. We organize certification exams from selected companies. These certificates are recognized worldwide and they demonstrate a high level of competence and knowledge of the most recent technological solutions.

Under the supervision of the Authorized Prometric Center, students of the University of Information Technology and Management can earn certificates from companies like: Novell, Oracle, IBM, Lotus, Intel, or Hewlett Packard.

CISCO Systems

Specialist training prepares students to take the CISCO Certified Networking Associate (CCNA) exam at the Authorized Prometric Center. The CCNA Certificate is an international document which confirms the recipient's abilities. The certificate is recognized internationally, and it demonstrates a high level of competence and knowledge of the most recent CISCO technologies. The Regional CISCO Academy course lasts four semesters and it consists of 280 classes. Classes include practical training in the CISCO laboratory, lectures by experts and tests conducted from a remote (off-site) CISCO server. Course materials are also available in electronic format via the Internet.

The creators of the CNAP program consider our Regional CISCO Academy the best one in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The University of Information Technology and Management received ''The Best Local Academy'' award in October 2001 in Copenhagen during the annual CISCO conference.

CISCO CCNP

Our university is a Regional CISCO Academy providing CCNP training and certification. CCNP is the next level in training for CISCO engineers and the next level certificate (CISCO Certified Network Professional).

Classes at CISCO Academy CCNP consist of four consecutive semesters (5th - 8th). Students who finish four semesters of training can continue their education on a higher level. The degrees are treated respectively as:

  • CCNA - BS
  • CCNP - MS
  • CCIE - Ph.D.

Our university has purchased specialist equipment for the CCNP program worth $40,000 which allows our students to work on the most modern computer equipment available. It was a large investment but it should pay off - those who have obtained the CCNP certificates earn about $100,000 per year. We will be proud to have our graduates among them.

ECDL - European Computer Driving License

The European Computer Driving License certifies that its owner knows the essential computer programs needed not only at work but also in everyday life. With this certificate, employment opportunities are greatly increased for those who are looking for their first job throughout the majority of European countries. The idea of the European Computer Driving License meets the needs of perspective employers since it is a homogenous and objective means of checking the abilities of job applicants. And this is independent of where the certificate was obtained, the courses taken or degree received. The employer knows that the holder of an ECDL certificate is able to effectively use their knowledge of information technologies.

Microsoft Certificates

In March 2001, the University of Information Technology and Management signed an agreement with Microsoft and became an Authorized Academic Training Partner (AATP) providing our students with the opportunity to earn the title of MCP - Microsoft Certified Professional. Microsoft certificates have been extremely popular worldwide as they reflect knowledge about company products. They are essential for the network administrator, graphic designer or computer programmer. Moreover, the certificates are helpful in finding a good job, as the owner is a specialist for a particular product as demonstrated by passing an exam (e.g. Implementing and Supporting MS Windows 2000). Worldwide, about 400,000 specialists have got a MCP degree (including over 1200 in Poland).

Sun Microsystems

Sun Microsystems is one of the world's biggest suppliers of high quality equipment, software, services and network technologies, including Internet and Intranet products. The firm was established in 1982 in California by four graduates of Stanford University and now is the leader supplier of UNIX servers. In Poland, Sun Microsystems has been operating since 1993. Its products are used in many sectors of the economy, such as telecommunications, pharmaceutics, automobile production, financial services, public administration and industry. Sun Microsystems is also well-represented at Polish universities.

The First Polish Authorised Academic Education Centre-Sun ASEC-AI was opened on 15 January 2002 at the University of Information Technology and Management. Within its framework, students of the University can attend authorised training sessions on Solaris operating systems and Java technology.

UITM students can obtain all certificates offered by the University at much lower prices than other individuals, and the ECDL certificate is part of the curricula of all faculties and specialisations at the University.

Students of any specialisation can obtain any of the IT certificates offered at UITM.
